The surgery for calf implants, which involves placing silicone prostheses in the lower legs, is not difficult. The prostheses are inserted behind the knee and the procedure can typically be completed in about one hour on both sides. After the surgery, a one-night hospital stay is possible, with discharge the following day. Typically, restrictions on leg movements are advised for the first week.
